The original mosaic created by the Renowned Manchester mosaic artist, Mark Kennedy, who has crafted intricate works for the city’s famous Affleck’s Palace over the years. Photo taken by Manc Wanderer
From portraits of Frank Sidebottom, Joy Division’s Ian Curtis and Morrissey to the legendary logos of Top of the Pops and film posters for Kes and The Godfather – his most recent mosaic is of Manchester-born Suffragette, Emmeline Pankhurst, which now joins his gallery of works on Tib Street.
The basis for the design was an image by street artist Mancsy, which Mark then transformed with red, black and white tiles.
With 2018 marking the centenary of womens' right to vote, it’s a poignant dedication.
